The D.C. Metro Area is Barely Liveable

Jim Rome is a radio god and living in the D.C. metro area makes me want to vomit.  I’m almost positive that we give anyone with one good eye and one good ear a license.  It rained yesterday and it was cold; therefore, a 30-min drive turned into three hours because of the possibility of ice.

Add that to the fact that because the federal government lives here creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, everything is overpriced.  Condos in D.C.  are at a premium and 1,000 sqft homes on miniature half acre lots in NOVA run you 800K to start.

If you like the trees along 50, 7100, 28, 29, or the beltway you best believe they won’t be there in a month. Land is at a premium so, builders will continue to build homes ON TOP of homes.

I’m pretty sure b/c the federal census bureau says that we have one of the highest per capita income, we get taxed for things most states don’t.  We get taxed for owning property, like that Audi A8 you can’t afford.

This rant is just that, a rant.  I don’t want to split hairs here b/c most metropolitan areas have these same problems but the D.C. metro area has the 4th most congested roadways behind NYC, LA, and SanFran.  Not to say that the D.C. metro is anything compared to NYC but if you add Northern VA’s population (approx. 3,000,000), Maryland (approx. 5,600,000), and DC (approx. 1,000,000) then we are basically as big or bigger than NYC without all the glamor associated with it.

So, I ask you – what makes the D.C. metro area so terrible?  Sound off.

Just some Food for Thought…u do the dishes…
