Mr. Right Now

Little Stephen Curry (pictured above being manhandled in last year’s NCAA tournament) and the Davidson men’s basketball team, who were down by 11 at halftime, shocked the basketball community by beating Georgetown today. The story though wasn’t as much of the upset but instead the play of one of the nation’s top scorer, Stephen Curry.
The child-like Curry, who’s listed as 6′3 but looks as if he is in middle school, scored 25 of his 30 points in the second half. Georgetown’s defense smothered the Davidson star in the first half but he never rattled. Obviously, his composure can attributed to the fact that he was bred to play basketball. His father, Dell Curry, was a Virginia Tech (you knew I’d find a way to bring VT into the conversation) basketball stand out, who later played in the NBA and his mom was a VT volleyball standout.
Why you may ask, didn’t Mr. Right Now take his talents to southwest VA like his dad? Well from what we’ve heard, a one Mr. Seth Greenberg told him that because of his size he wouldn’t afford Curry a scholarship. But because his father’s jersey is hanging from the rafters of Cassell Coliseum, he would allow him to walk-on. Feeling slighted, Stephen took his massive amount of ability and composure to Davidson.
How good would VT Basketball be if they had this offensive savant in addition to the athletic players already in Blacksburg? They probably would have made the tournament; that’s for sure. Kudos, to Mr. Right Now because he’s on the verge of becoming a household name.
