Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival at Wolf Trap
This Sunday July 27th, If you’re looking for something to do, check out the Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival Tribute to Bob Marley at Wolf-Trap in Vienna Va. WolfTrap Site to order tickets

It will be a great time and for those of you who have never been to Wolf-Trap, it’s quite a venue.
You can bring your own food and drinks, including alcohol. That’s strong.
Lawn Tickets are going for 25$ and seats are 42$. Basically, spend less money than you would at the bar watching live feel-good music and drinking the types of libations you actually like to drink (Steel Reserves).
The show starts at 2pm and will go into the evening.
The headline act is Stephen Marley. For those of you who have not heard his latest CD: Mind Control, you should definitely check it out.
Other groups in attendance
Damian “Junior Gong” Marley : Most know for song “Welcome to Jamrock” but has many other great songs. He could be one of my favorite artist.
SOJA: Great local group that has started to gain nation exposure. Just last week at Tyson Corner Mall I saw 7 people wearing SOJA shirts. That is pretty good considering how fashion is so important in NOVA.
Linked below are Rhapsody sites for each artist. Check them out. This show will be one for the ages.
There is also an Official After Party for Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival 2008 at eCITIE Which start at around 7 P.M. In Tyson’s Corner VA, which is about a 5 Min. drive from WOLF Trap.
All of these artist while inspired and centered around Reggae have a very new age sound. They mix the old school reggae hooks with new age beats and lyrics. It’s more Hip Hop/Dancehall Reggae. I’m sure they will be doing a lot of Bob Marley Covers, and even some ” Everyone On the Stage at Once” type of things. It will be a great night.
MUSIC TO LISTEN TO:
Damian Marley
food for thought; udothedishes….
J. Mal, me, and some friends will be in attendance with a lawn seat and cooler of fare and beverages. If you’re planning on going definitely think about meeting up with us. We’d love to see you out there.
