ESPN: Washington Redskins will finish last in the NFC East

The experts, for better or for worse are listed below.  Might I add that Jeffri Chadiha picked the Ravens and the Bears to meet in last year’s (2007) Superbowl and had the Eagles winning the NFC East.  I’m not hating but I’m simply stating that predictions are worth d*ck and the title €œexpert€ is bestowed upon every single jerk that works at ESPN. The term €œexpert analysis€ is used loosely to describe the verbal diarrhea that spews from likes of Woody Paige (although I like him) or Emmitt Smith.

At least Jeremy Green knows what’s up.  I can’t even front like I don’t think the Cowboys will win the NFC East; I think right now on paper they’re the favorite.  And after the Panthers preseason castration of the R-Skins, one probably has a hunch that we can’t stop the run or protect our own QB.  But until Tony Romo proves he can win a big game or a playoff game, I don’t think they’re SB favorites. And until we get hung by our legs upside down in a regular season game then I refuse to believe we aren’t better than the Strahan-less and Umenyiora-less Giants.  Hey, as ESPN expert Pat Yasinskas put it, ” Yeah, Dallas has a ton of talent and, on paper, should be the division
champion. But there are too many egos for one roster and this whole
thing could blow up in a hurry if the Cowboys don’t start off well.” (see Terrible TO, Mr. Pacman, and Jessica Simpson)

That’s okay. Let the Skins fly under the radar and at the end of the season lets see what happens.

    Hail.

I hate to say it, but the Skins are the definition of inconsistency in the NFL. I do root for them (when I’m not pulling for the 49ers), but they have no shot to win the super bowl. They are a wild card team at best this year. There is too much talent in the NFL this year for them to be true contenders. I see them upsetting someone in the first round of the playoffs and getting crushed after that in typical Redskin style.

One thing too, pre-season doesn’t mean shit. That is when i’d rather take an ass kickin like the one to Carolina, because it doesn’t count. J-Campbell better watch out tho, cuz Colt Brennan will be a viable NFL star before his career is over.

It says something about how tough the division is when a team that made the playoffs, lost no significant players from the team that played in the playoffs and added three playmakers on office via the draft and a hall of fame pass rusher who had double digit sacks last year and is still picked last. The Redskins do have more question marks then any other teams in the division, although each of the teams is flawed. The Cowboys are in big trouble if T.O. gets hurt and has to miss significant time, as he has for the past three seasons. The Giants have not improved at all since the Super Bowl. They have less explosiveness on the D-Line and are much younger in the secondary. The Eagles still have no viable threat at WR. Jackson still has to prove himself against a starting secondary instead of the guys who will end up in the CFL before the year is over. Either way the safe pick by the €œexperts€ is to pick the Skins last. The thing I see is the Skins will be tested early. The first five games are all against probable playoff contenders and three of which are on the road division games. If they can come out of that stretch standing, then the rest of the season should be a breeze. The biggest question is can Jason Campbell be the guy. It is one thing to put up good numbers, it is quite another to win football games. Can Campbell turn the corner and finish off the drive at the end of the game? If the team is struggling can he make a throw/play to turn things around. If he can the Redskins are as good as anybody in the NFC. One last thing. In the NFL all you need to do is be playing your best ball and somehow make it to the playoffs. Look at the Giants. They were not the best team in football last year. They weren’t even the best team in there division, and I would argue they weren’t the second best in their division (Skins should have beaten them twice), but they were playing their best late in the year and managed to qualified for the extra season and that’s all it took.

No Skins fans on that poll means nobody went out on a limb. Say what you want Theismann would have hooked it with at least a number 2 ranking.

Saying Colt Brennan will be a viable NFL Star is similar to saying that Alex Smith will be a viable NFL Star.

That’s why these analysts never played the game or sucked when they played in high school. If someone gotta finish last, why can’t it be the damn Cowboys! Let the kids play and see who comes out on top. Skin’s will be doin’ the damn thang this year..Pokes

  6. Phil says:

SI picks them in 4th as well. They also think the eagles are going to lose to the pats in the sb. And also…ready for this. The vikings will finish 13-3 and haved the best record in the NFC. Analysts and experts don’t know shit and always take things at face value. So many unexpected things are going to happen just like every year in every sport so lets watch everything play out. Did you also hear that Adrian Peterson is going to rush for 5,000 yds this year. FOH

Well It’s nice to see that someone got it right. I mean my friend Lee Gibbons at http://www.theredskinreport.com/ saw the Skins going 10 and 6. He also predicted that the Superbowl champion NY GIANTS would go 6-10. Well good luck on another season I am sure the skins will be over 500.
