Warning: Do Not Sell Your MNF Ticket To A Steelers’ Fan

A post by "Blake the Megalomaniac" To see more posts click here

It’s plain and simple.  I’m looking right past the winless and shameful Detroit Lions because I’m not a player nor a coach so I can afford to do that and I’m planning for November 3rd.  It will be a huge game because Polamalu and the boys from the Burgh are considered by most as the class of the AFC.  It will be Monday Night and all eyes will be on them and all eyes will be on the Burgundy and Gold.  Are Portis and the boys presumably at 6-2 after beating the Lions by 40, the real deal?  We’ll know after 11/3/2008.

Frankly though if you follow football at any level. you know Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania take their American football seriously.  Granted they all do it in unique ways, it’s PA from the bottom, beginning with high school, to the top ending with the NFL and their Eagles and Steelers who do it the best.

Eagles’ fans are nasty and sick.  But Steelers’ fans are like cockroaches.  Not in the same way Cowboys fans are like cockroaches.  Cowboys’ fans serve only one purpose, which is to gloat when their team is good (overrated) and run around the D.C. metro being a fan simply to spite Redskin fans.  No. Steelers fans infest your stadium and take away your homefield advantage and we cannot let that happen.

"The significant presence of Steelers fans in opposing stadiums, whether
they are Steel City transplants or folks who traveled in for the game,
effectively eliminates the last two advantages. It is difficult to feed
off the energy of the home crowd when you look up in the stands and see
that a significant portion of the crowd is actually cheering for the
other team. Plus, the noise is not nearly as deafening when less than
80 percent of the fans in the stands are screaming in unison."

"Secondly, I am well aware that the Packers, Raiders, Cowboys and
Redskins, just to name a few, have great fans who pop up in away
stadiums every time their team is on the road. Trust me, it does not
compare to Steelers fans. I have played for some of those teams and it
is not even close. The Steelers have the best fans in the NFL."

Pay close attention to the above line.  It says that the "Redskins have
great fans."  Nevermind the other teams mentioned, you key in on the
team that matters and you realize how pressing it is to maintain that
league wide respect. How important at the end of commercial timeouts
is it for Andre Carter to look up while he’s jumping up and down, hypin’
the crowd and giving the arm motion a child gives a trucker when they
want him to honk his horn, to  actually get the feedback and synergy from the fans as he has all
season?  Essential.

Please, help your team.  Know who you’re selling your ticket to.  It’s not
hard. This is the most educated area in
the country so the "I didn’t know he was a Pitt fan" will not fly, at
all.  I know the economy is down and those steel workers are willing
to drop major jack for any and every seat but withstand the pressures.  Cancel
whatever came up that was stopping you from going, man up, and go, or
sell your ticket to a Redskins fan.  These are you’re only options and if your a true fan then you’d heed
my request.

Food for thought, u do the dishes…
