All-Star Games Should be Abolished
On Thursday after a normal day of work then night school, I finally sat down at midnight to eat dinner and watch some T.V..
It was halftime in the Wizard’s game. They were visiting the Los Angeles Lakers.
The score at the half?
72-47, Go Wiz.
That’s not a typo. That’s an ass kicking courtesy of the boys from La La Land.
Reggie Miller doing the game commentating said, “There is no way Antawn Jamison should make the All-Star team.”
On TNT’s halftime show, Chris Webber and Gary Payton were guest hosts to replace Charles Barkley who was “on leave”.
The topic on their halftime plate for the replacement cast was the starting rosters for this year’s all-star game. It seems that most people in the know think that only players from winning teams should be selected to the game.

The Starting Lineups:
West: Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Tim Duncan, and Yao Ming
East: Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, and Allen Iverson
Who you think should have made it instead?
Udothedishes…while I drive to the hole.
If an all-star game takes place but no one knows, did it actually happen…NHL? Oh about the NBA, the regular season including the all-star game is irrelevant. Actually, the first and second round of the playoffs are irrelevant too.
I side with C-Webb and Gary Payton to a certain extent. It really isn’t Al Jefferson’s fault he is on a trifling squad, nor is it any knock on Antwan’s game that he is on a miserable team. That being said, I DEFINITELY think players on good team should be given more weight in All-Star selections. But Kevin Durant shouldn’t sit out the All-Star game so that the Mavericks can send Dirk, Josh Howard, and Jason Terry…..right?
If Jason Terry ever makes an All-Star team, I’m boycotting the NBA for ever.
Agreed, the NBA is irrelevant. Jason Terry averages almost 21 a game and if the league does happen to play an all-star game, then he should probably at least get a seat on the bench.
