As the first inductee into the “Slept-on Hall of Fame,” SOHOF for short, I would like you to consider an experimental piece from a group that consistently breaks new musical ground, Outkast and their album “Idlewild”.
Now, I know that Outkast is well-known for bending genres and consistently succeeding by literally doing whatever the fuck they want, but for some reason (maybe because it was a soundtrack and maybe because the movie was labeled a period-piece-musical) this soundtrack did not get much consideration. While a couple of the songs did get some airplay and a couple had music videos made, in that arena the songs are taken out of context. This is your classic storytelling album, (even if you didn’t watch the movie) and a prime example of the sum being greater than the parts.
If you get a chance, give it a listen (scroll about 1/2 way down and you can hear samples) and let us know if you agree or not…
What artist, movie, cd or the like do you think has been overlooked by the masses and deserves a second glance?

I would have to say one of the most slept on t.v shows would have to be Dinosaurs on ABC, 1991-1994. Taht show was way ahead of its time in humor and in technology.

I can distinctively recall, on more than one occasion, taking a random object and smacking one of many brothers and yelling “Not the Mama!” That show was tight man.

Dinosaurs was strong. 2 Skinnee J’s are strong. I need to check out Deadwood but I don’t have HBO.
My contribution is Sons of Anarchy on FX. i think people know about it but my aren’t watching it. It centers around a bike gang whose members are the epitome of Alpha Males. They ride around banging out other gangs and battling for turf in their Harley Davidson all while being hassled by John Law. Sick.
Two Skinnee J’s were the shit. They threw the hell down!
Another group that I think is slept on a little bit is Rehab. THey have been out for a minute and I think they are pretty talented.
America’s Best Dance Crew has definitely been slept on. Jabbwookez, Quest Crew and the Beat Freaks are sick!
Most slept on album, ever: Cannibal Ox “The Cold Vein”. Period.
