This is going to be a very abridged version of the weekly column for no other reason than the fact that I got home late from an interview and I’m ready to go to bed.

I’m going to start this one out by highlighting a couple of events this weekend that were sent to me.  Proof that (at least 2 or 3) people are reading this and responding is more than enough encouragement for me to be a whore and devote the top 1/3rd (statistically the most read) of this column, to them:

WEST END RUGBY – For everyone reading that has never seen a live rugby match and is afraid that they “won’t know the rules” or what is going on, you must check this out.  I went a full 16 years of my life thinking that there was no way any sport could top football…I was wrong.  West End (my old team), is being coached by Michael Flood, and is currently ranked #3 in the state.  Tonight, they’re taking on the defending champs Nova at 8:00 in Herndon (and I’m smelling an upset).

[Side note:  The David Bailey Memorial Scholarship has been established as lasting tribute to the spirit of a man who was dedicated to rugby, education and being a friend to all. Sadly, Dave left us too soon, the result of fatal liver complications brought on by an allergic reaction to a prescribed medication.  Please visit the site and donate if you can]

Weekend Ignition with j:cee – Episode #038, will be this Saturday, April 18th, from 9pm to 10pm. It will be broadcast worldwide via the station in Berlin. This week’s show features new releases from Paul van Dyk, Matt Cerf, and new remixes of The Killers, and oh yes.. Blue Oyster Cult.  Check out his website (here).

As far as the rest of the (NOT 420) weekend goes, you are on your own.  If you are planning on calling in sick Monday and have a certain “reputation” at work…start faking your cough now.  If you do know of something going on and would like to suggest it to some other like-minded readers…the comment field is all yours.
