The Bank Overcharges Two Customers $50 Quadrillion

A post by "S-Dott " To see more posts click here

In a shocking banking error, Josh Muszynski of Manchester, New Hampshire discovered his debit card provider, Bank of America, charged him $23,148,855,308,184,500 (+ a $15 overdraft fee) for a pack of cigarettes purchased at a local gas station. Another man, Jon Seale of North Texas, was also overcharged the exact same amount for dining at a local Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Between the two glitches, Bank of America had overcharged an amount approximately 4,000 times the national deficit.

Even more bizarre was that it took Mr. Muszynski 2 hours to resolve the obvious error with his bank (although Seale went one step ahead and actually attempted to call celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck himself). When contacted by the press, Bank of America claimed Visa was responsible for the error and upon contacting Visa, they asserted the responsibility lied with Bank of America.

Moral of the Story: 1) Don’t bank with B of A, and 2) If you enjoy fancy dinners and cheap cigarettes, stay out of Texas and New Hampshire.

Below is the local news story regarding the incident with Seale, and the video covering the Musynski incident can be found here (the local NH news station disabled embedding).
