Daniel Snyder, Mr. Insecurity
With recent news coming out of Ashburn, VA that the Washington Redskins are forbidding members of the media from tweeting at Redskins’ training camp, we’re forced to examine the newest decree to come out of the Washington dictatorship.
Let’s add this to the list of things Daniel Synder and his organization have done over the past decade of team ownership that’s in total opposition to that of any successful (or to a lesser extent, functional) organization. Even more puzzling is that training camp and two-a-days at Redskins Park are coming to an end so why prohibit training camp tweets from members of the media now?
True, Mr. Snyder’s job as CEO of the Washington Redskins, one of the top two most valuable franchises in the NFL, is surely not to please ME. It’s not to please my fellow Washingtonians, Northern Virginians, Marylanders, or anyone. He’s proven time and time again that he’s about the bottom line. He’s proven time in and time out that you’re either with him or against him.
This stubbornness would be admirable if it were strictly business to anyone else besides Danny but it’s not strictly business.
The truth, regardless of all the hyperbole from Mr. Synder in the limited interviews detailing how he’s been a Redskins’ fan since he was little, is that the Redskins mean more to many people in this area than all the money, stocks, bonds, and other assets combined mean to Mr. Snyder, which is difficult to imagine.
Now, in addition to being the most savage business man on the East Coast, he’s now made Redskins Nation the metaphorical equivalent to Iran or North Korea when it comes to information sharing. Thus, he garners the title as the most insecure person of power in this area (along with the title of being an ornery business man).

What has Mr. Synder done to gain these titles? (Oh and I purposely transposed the ‘y’ in Snyder on multiple instances throughout this post to show the Redskins’ owner only an ounce of the disrespect he’s shown us, the fans, during his tenure. It’s the little things in life, right?) Well . . .
Adding more luxury boxes and obstructed view seats to what was already the biggest stadium in the league in 2000; Charging for parking at the stadium many stadiums let you park for free; Prohibiting tailgating in majority of the parking lots; Buying up all competing sports radio stations in DC making them all pro-Snyder; Buying Redskins message boards making them all pro-Snyder; Disallowing tweets from members of the media . . .
Where does it end? The list goes on.
udothedishes . . .
Mr. Snyder, go directly to jail.
“he’s now made Redskins Nation the metaphorical equivalent to Iran or North Korea when it comes to information sharing.” hahahaha that’s a good one.. good article Snyder is whack, hes forced so many people to hate the redskins.
We in the Northern Va area love the Skins and hate Dan Snyder. I wish there was a way to have him sell the team…
