Further Proof of Mayor Fenty’s Incompetence

fentyThere is another notch on Adrian Fenty’s bedpost marking yet another scandal in which he has fucked over citizens of the District.

After working on an ongoing $666 million budgetary shortfall with the City Council, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (headed by Fenty-goon Valerie Santos) approved a $37,000 appropriation to the Historical Society of Washington, DC.

Why?

For a frat party.

Fenty’s fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, is in town holding its 79th Grand Chapter Meeting and arranged for a welcome event to be held at the Historical Society’s building over on K St. (next to City Museum). Courtesy of DC’s hardworking taxpayers, the members were provided with corn fritters, crab cakes, chocolate-covered cheesecake and mimi red-velvet cupcakes while live music played on two floors (because what good is an open-bar without live music and gourmet munchies?).

Being as Fenty is virtually a role model in matters of ethical malfeasance, the grant afforded to the fraternity was deemed improper only after the matter was discovered by Attorney General Peter Nickles. Nickles notified the Mayors office of his concern and, shortly thereafter, the money was reimbursed back to the city.

Somebody vote this guy out of office already. This is getting ridiculous.

haha- DC kind of has a record with memorable mayors eh?

Yes we do. Some point to that record and our general record on electing those that govern us as the sole reason we should be denied state status. To them I say representation isn’t a privilege that’s earned, it’s something that should be an unalienable right.
