Lawsons: Fully-Vested

It is a pleasant treat to feel connected.  A great example is morning hunger.  Everyone has morning hunger.  Everyone has their routines, but they are all trying to accomplish the same thing.  Eat.

My routine goes like this:

Wake up and get ready for work.  The first thing I do almost every morning is have a cold glass of water.  It helps me wake up quickly.  I  never eat right away.  I  can’t find the time to prepare anything even though it only takes a second (this is when I miss Pop-Tarts, which always had Toaster Strudel dominated).

I leave for work, stomach empty, and hop on the Metro.  It’s a good 20-30 min ride from where I live to Metro Center where I work.  As I come up the escalators I’m starving at this point and I know exactly where I’m headed.  The office is across the street, but I pull a hard right when I exit the station.  I’m headed to Lawsons Gourmet sandwich shop.  This is one of the best places to get breakfast in this part of town.  I have tried many places, like Jonathan’s for instance, but they are all missing something.  Lawsons is a great place to get breakfast and I’ll tell you why.

The food is very reasonably priced and they have a wide variety of choices.  They have fresh pastries and fruit.  A full lunch version salad bar stocked at 8:00AM.  Bagel sandwiches made to order with a wide variety of meats and variations due to the fact that they slice their own deli meat.  The food is always fresh and that isn’t even the best part.  Every employee during those morning shifts is friendly.  They are all working very hard to prep the store for the rest of the day, but everyone is always making sure the customers are well taken care of.  If a register line starts to fill, someone will stop prep and open another register.  The way the staff makes guests feel is a huge part of the reason why I go there every morning.  I can get a Egg Sandwich almost anywhere for essentially the same price.  But when the guy behind the counter starts making my order as soon as I walk in the door?

That is when you’ve got me coming back every time.
