I want you all to be witnesses to my advice paying off for not just yourselves but on my own personal teams as well. So here's a snapshot at my team records and leagues:

I am involved in 4 leagues this year with my own teams; additionally 2 more, to make that 6 teams, if you count me helping a girl friend out but I'll leave those alone. Two leagues are money leagues and the other 2 are just for fun to try different strategies.

MY #1 League - Gentlemen's Club V - $$ League (the only real league I truly care about): This is a blend of PPR/IDP play in a 12-team league. As most of you remember, PPR is a point-per-reception league and IDP uses individual defensive players instead of overall team defense/special team players. Basically, we have to do our research on both sides of the ball and often. Bye weeks don't just hurt our offensive players, now we're taking into account our defensive players too. We are only allowed 20 drop/add moves all season long. Trades are put to a league vote. The PPR aspect is very unique where we only get a 0.5 point-per-reception, instead of a full point. Also, the QB play is the most unique. QB's get a +0.5 point-per-completion, but subtract a -0.5 point-per-incompletion and all TD's are worth 6. I am sitting in 6th place right now (which the top 6 teams get a playoff spot) with a 3-3 record, but I am 4th highest in overall points at 802. The league high is 881, currently first place thanks to Tom Brady's week last week where his QB got him 82 points alone. Yea I know, pretty ridiculous huh? Therefore, all I really need is for 1 team in front of me to lose and I jump them to a higher rank. Also, I am only 1 of 2 teams in the league to have scored over 100+ points every single week thus far. It really has been bad luck for me since all of my games have been high scoring games not just for my team to have a day, but my opponents have had a good day for their players too. So if I've broken 100+ points, the other team has too; obviously not common for everyone else's match ups. As an example, the team currently sitting in 4th place only has 637 points with a record of 4-2. Basically his competition has obviously not scored many points while playing against him. If he loses and I win this week, he'll drop quickly in the ranks to around 7th probably because he is currently 7th overall in points. My team shows a lot of consistency and my players are definitely coming into their own.

My Current Team: QB: Aaron Rodgers, Mark Sanchez; WRs: Andre Johnson, Greg Jennings, Roddy White, Nate Burleson; RBs: Steve Slaton, Ray Rice, Sammy Morris; TEs: John Carlson, Vernon Davis; K: Neil Rackers
IDPs: Curtis Loften (LB), Sabby Piscitelli (S), Abram Elam (S), Justin Tuck (DE), Jimmy Wilkerson (DE).

Obviously Mark Sanchez is strictly a backup QB. I don't prefer to have 2 QB's to really debate between starting. Same goes for TE. I only like to carry 1 TE, but I have 2 simply because I am going to keep a 2nd in case of injury or anything else during the playoff stretch. As for my RB's I am making a move to trade one of my WR's for a better RB. Since this is PPR, I am pretty set with Slaton and Rice, but I'm looking to trade Burleson for someone while promoting the fact that Burleson is 3rd in the league in targets to get a steal for someone else. I have to look into my options. I started out 0-2 losing by 3 or 4 points in both of my early match ups; heartbreakers, so I started to trade players and drop/add like crazy as I talked to you all about.

Trades I've made: Before the season even started, I traded Matt Schaub for Aaron Rodgers (keeping my QB/WR combo). Obviously now we can see that keeping Schaub and having him throw to AJ would have done wonders for me instead of Rodgers to Jennings, but oh well. Another trade I made was trading away Cadillac Williams for Steve Slaton - this was your typical buy low selection as Slaton has found the end zone every week since I got him. Recently with John Carlson on Bye this week, I traded away Kevin Smith for Vernon Davis. Personally, I like Davis' upside with being a go-to receiver for the 49ers. Smith and the Lions really just have a god awful schedule that gets scarier toward the end of the season; which is during the playoffs for us. Not a good time to have him starting for anyone.

Ok that was a lot about my league, but honestly, every season in there I have only progressed in the ranks. This is my 5th year in the league. Every year something has changed with scoring and league settings/positions/etc. Hence why we have a blend of IDP and PPR settings. Last year I finished in 3rd. I expect to make the championship this year. There are obvious signs of who the cream of the crop is and who will eventually fall. I consider myself one of the top competitors regardless of league rank right now.

My 2nd league is my company league - $$ League. I'm the league commish and its a 16-team league and I am currently in 1st place with a 5-1 record. Needless to say, even with 4 bench spots, there is nobody available on the free agent/waiver wire market. Lots of trade offers in this league.

My 3rd league is my sister's league.. its a 10-team league and I am currently in 3rd place with a 4-2 record. This one has my girl friends team in it too, and shes right behind me in 4th place with a 4-2 record too, so technically I'm in 3rd and 4th place since I manage her team for her.

My 4th league is a random 12-team league where I really haven't had to do a whole lot, my team looks good as is and I'm tied for 1st place there too with a 5-1 record.
