Dan Snyder’s fascist regime strikes again

6824_791610439233_6211312_44426971_1827884_nIn yet another attempt to dick over faithful fans who still bother going to the games, the Redskins Reichtag, led by Führer Snyder, have officially banned all signs from being displayed within the stadium. Apparently they aren’t messing around with this new rule and are taking a hardline approach in its enforcement, because Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post recently blogged about how a woman who made a sign saying hello to her husband serving in Afghanistan, shamelessly had her sign confiscated and thrown away by stadium officials.

Much in the same way Charlie Murphy once described Rick James, Snyder is a guy known for stepping over the line. Habitually. He’s a habitual line-stepper. But this is the sort of obnoxious behavior that has fans foaming at the mouth. We all know that the team has been performing terribly and that management has been in the news practically every week with yet another grotesque display of malfeasance, and yet despite this nobody has heard so much as a peep from the NFL’s 3rd worst owner. But who has time to address a group as trivial as the fans? Sny-guy’s a busy man. He’s probably busy out working on building the Death Star, planning his invasion of Poland, or towering above Mordor ablaze keeping an eye on Frodo and those pesky hobbits.

Kojo Nnamdi and Tom Sherwood discussed this a bit this afternoon on NPR, because evidently the NFL OK’d the move to ban signs saying that the issue was a “team and stadium matter” (in one of the most bizarre statements I’ve ever heard from Sherwood, he complained that Snyder “should let the free markets rule” despite the fact that this situation is a perfect example of how pricks like Snyder abuse the free market system). So now it’s safe to say that even the league has forsaken this team to the hopeless oblivion of Snyder’s leadership.

So what say ye?

I say that we, the fans, take this team back. We need to oppose moves like this the same way rednecks oppose healthcare reform. It’s painfully obvious at this point Snyder & Co. have no interest in preserving this storied franchise’s great name, and if they want to ban fans carrying signs, they’d better be ready for fans carrying pitchforks and torches.
